The Women's Dermatologic Society:
A Historical Perspective
Watch this video to learn more about the history of the Women's Dermatologic Society. The video was created by Dr. Pearl Grimes, MD in 2005 to describe the development of the Society over the past 30 years.
The WDS was formed in 1973 and now is comprised of over 1,300 members nationally and internationally. Members represent all subspecialties of dermatology and work in private practice, academics and research. WDS members meet yearly in conjunction with the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) Annual Meeting-the main function is the WDS Annual Meeting Business Luncheon. In addition, WDS hosts local networking events, a members' retreat every other year, and events at the AAD Summer Meeting.
