A record number of dermatologists belonging to the Women’s Dermatologic Society (WDS) have taken action to combat skin cancer by volunteering 3,500 hours of their time in 61 cities since 2004.
WDS reports that an unprecedented number of its 1,600 members volunteer to promote skin health awareness. This effort mirrors the national skin cancer screening initiative of the American Academy of Dermatology.

WOMEN'S DERMATOLOGIC SOCIETY MEDIA DAY IN MANHATTAN:
The Women's Dermatologic Society recently presented LOVE YOUR SKIN!, a dynamic Media Day for national magazine editors, featuring 20 WDS members who are leading authorities on skin and hair. A duo of experts on each of ten hot topics in dermatology offered the latest in trends, breakthroughs and controversies in the field--all from the woman dermatologist's perspective. Available online is an event recap, synopses request, a photo scrapbook, as well as biographical and contact information for each of the WDS experts.

WDS MEDIA DAY IN NEW YORK: A HUGE SUCCESS:
The Women’s Dermatologic Society broke new ground with its first ever Media Day held on May 16, 2005 at Chelsea Piers in New York City. The purpose of the event was to promote the “Play Safe in the Sun at LPGA” campaign that WDS launched last year and has successfully conducted at five major LPGA tournament sites across the U.S. In addition, just prior to Media Day, WDS learned that it would receive the AAD’s Gold Triangle Award on July 21, 2005 at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago.

WDS RECEIVES SECOND AAD GOLD TRIANGLE AWARD:
The Women’s Dermatologic Society was recognized for its Families Play Safe in the Sun Community Service Outreach Program on the evening of July 27, 2006 at the San Diego Marriott during the American Academy of Dermatology's Summer Meeting. This is the WDS' second AAD Gold Triangle Award in the past two years.

WDS RECEIVES AAD GOLD TRIANGLE AWARD:
The Women’s Dermatologic Society was the recipient of a Gold Triangle Award on Thursday, July 21, 2005 from the 14,000-member American Academy of Dermatology. The award recognized WDS’ communications efforts through the “Play Safe in the Sun at LPGA” initiative launched in 2004 to raise awareness about sun safety in the golf community.
