Host Your Own Local WDS Networking Reception!
If you’re like me, each year you look forward to the WDS Annual Meeting Luncheon because it provides a chance for you to see old friends and network with your colleagues. And each year I leave thinking “Why don’t we do this more often?”
Have you ever thought about holding a small, intimate WDS reception in your area? Well, now’s your chance! On behalf of the Women’s Dermatologic Society Networking Committee I invite you to host/attend local WDS networking events on a regular basis in your region.
- Host the event in your home, favorite restaurant, or coffee shop
- Open your office for a practice enhancement type event to provide a forum to address issues faced by female dermatologists, such as balancing work and family and advice and tips on contract negotiation
Invite your local members to join you for your monthly book club, yoga class or other activity
- Invite a guest speaker from your local university or society to discuss issues common to all women dermatologists
- Funding is available!
The purpose of these receptions is to establish continuity and to foster ongoing relationships. Regional Directors of the WDS have been appointed to be a contact person in your area.
