WDS Annual Meeting Luncheon

Paola Gianturco, co-author and photojournalist of “In Her Hands: Craftswomen Changing the World” is the keynote speaker at the Annual Luncheon. She has traveled around the world to meet and document the micro-entrepreneurial heroines in her book, which is about the courage and spirit of women, all poor and many illiterate, who have taken charge of their lives by creating and selling traditional crafts. Her stories about these amazing women provide insight into creating an artistic, social and economic legacy. Her message is that the world is smaller and women’s spirits are larger than we had ever imagined.
